On September 23, 1987, Administrative Order No.
36 was issued directing the various departments and agencies of the
national government to establish their respective regional offices at
Baguio City. This Administrative Order formally established the DECS-CAR
Regional Office on April 1, 1988 at Quirino Hall, Teachers' Camp, Baguio
City.

The Regional
Office at Wangal, La Trinidad, Benguet was built during the administration of
Director Stephen N. Capuyan and was inaugurated on April 1995.

VISION:
DepEd-Cordillera Administrative Region envisions to
provide education to sustain the compatibility of man, nature, culture
and technology. We shall continue to develop the region's manpower to
ensure the protection and preservation of our common and shared future.
We hope to address new directions and anticipated changes in our
society, country and region such as global issues to do with care about
nature's sustainability, cultural concerns to do with quality of life,
justice, peace, unity and mutual interdependence, and economic
advancement for national and regional viability and focusing on those
who have less in life. This we hope to achieve in cooperation and
collaboration with multi-sectoral agencies.
MISSION:
In pursuance of our vision, we the DepEd-Cordillera
Administrative Region, strengthen our commitment to:
A. OUR PUPILS
AND STUDENTS We shall develop and enhance
knowledge and skills and instill values necessary for active and
productive participation in a technology advancing society.
B. OUR SCHOOL
MANAGERS AND TEACHERS We shall develop
highly competent educational leaders and teachers possessing a high
degree of credibility, integrity and commitment in the pursuit of
quality of life for the totally developed Filipino child.
C. OUR COMMUNITY
PARENTS, NGOs and LGUs We shall establish an
effective networking and grand alliance with various GOs and NGOs in the
attainment of quality of education for all.
D. OUR
NON-TEACHING PERSONNEL We shall develop
non-teaching personnel who are not only imbued with the right values and
attitudes towards efficient and effective service but also provide
opportunities for professional growth to achieve quality of life.
